Selina Kyle will be featured in new Superman animated series.  I’m being facetious, of course, but look at the snapshot and you’ll know what I mean.  Among the new animated shows that were announced for HBO Max/Cartoon Network was ‘My Adventures with Superman’.  ‘My Adventures with Superman’ is a coming of age story that follows the trio of Superman/Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen through their lives, together and apart, as they fight off various bad guys.  Jack Quaid and Alice Lee will be the the voice actors for Superman/Clark Kent and Lois and according to Sam Register, president of Warner Bros. animation and Cartoon Network Studios, will be a great platform for these and other DC superheroes.

“It’s been a great partnership working with Cartoon Network and HBO Max to bring more DC superheroes to the platform in new and creatively interesting ways.  This is the first animated Superman series in many years and we want to tell our Superman story through the trio of Clark, Lois and Jimmy — whose relationship dynamic will allow for rich, serialized and engaging stories as we explore their lives as individuals and their journey together as friends.”

Boy, I hope Sam’s right and J.J. Abrams doesn’t sink his uncreative teeth into this one as well.  I mean, look at the screenshot provided.  In that one snapshot, we can surmise, based on past experiences, where this show will  be headed.  Now, maybe I’m being a bit too judgy right now but Hollywood’s climate of inclusion, representation, and wokeness has been very front and center in the last few years, with no end in sight barring the few rare exceptions.

Hollywood has at Least Been Consistent in Disappointing the Fans

Hollywood has been nothing but consistent when it comes to disappointing the fans as they ride their woke train into oblivion.  You just have to look at the CW’s Batwoman, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow to see how consistently political they have been with our superheroes.  So, when I saw the snapshot of ‘My Adventures with Superman’ I couldn’t help but assume the worse.  Jimmy Olsen has been race swapped, Superman/Clark Kent looks very befuddled and not in control, and Lois(Catwoman) is the center of attention.  Lois could pass for a teenage boy in this screenshot the way she looks.  But, overall, I think HBO Max/Cartoon Network got their characters mixed up because Lois looks just like Selina Kyle minus the big chest.  My assumption, based on precedence, will be that Clark/Superman will be led by the ever dominant Lois Lane and not be able to make any decisions for himself.  Jimmy Olsen feels a little out of place and I think was race swapped to pander to people that don’t really care about these characters.  We will get an animated TV show that will showcase how politically correct a media company can be instead of entertaining us with a great story.  What’s even sadder is that kids will be watching this show.  Maybe that’s a good thing.  Maybe everyone will get so bored they will turn it off.  It happened for Star Trek Lower Decks so I guess anything is possible.  At some point, the money will run out, and Hollywood will be turning in circles, scratching their heads, wondering why no one is watching their mediocrity…and that’s being generous.
