Is Ukraine Worth It?

Democrats used to be the party of anti-war.  Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, and Iraq are just some of the examples of how the left would lambaste the right for being so war hungry.  During the Iraq War under the George W Bush administration, the left and the mainstream media would broadcast U.S. soldier body counts by the minute.  For a democrat party that used to be so “anti-war”, they sure have become war hawks in the last decade.  20 years in Afghanistan, the push from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to invade Syria in 2011, Libya and the overthrow of Gaddafi, and now Ukraine, are just some examples of how hawkish the left has become.  Is Ukraine worth it?  Are we really defending American interests, freedom, and democracy by funding a corrupt government and their borders thousands of miles away from our own?  Traitor Mitch McConnell and his sidekick Lindsey Graham would have you believe so.  It’s been almost a year, and a 100 billion dollars later since the United States went all in on supporting the Russia invaded Ukraine…with no end in the foreseeable future.  Ukraine nor its people asked for any of this, nor did they deserve this unwarranted attack by Vladimir Putin.  But Vladimir Putin saw an opportunity, much like he saw with Obama when he invaded Crimea, when Joe Biden was elected president.  And in August of 2021, Putin got his wish when a befuddled Joe Biden lead an absolute catastrophic withdrawal in Afghanistan, and broadcasted his weakness on the world stage.  Afghanistan was all the proof Putin needed to realize he could get away with his plan to expand mother Russia once again and not get any push back, as he most certainly would have under a President Trump.  Putin was strategic and patient in this regard.  He did it with Obama and Crimea, and has now done it with Biden and Ukraine.  The difference being, Obama stayed out of Crimea, while Biden is naively and ignorantly fighting a proxy war with Putin by financially and militarily aiding a corrupt Ukrainian regime.  In a nutshell…in my opinion…this treads awfully close to an all out WWIII.

Sending Jets to Ukraine Would be the Last Straw for Putin

Aiding and abetting Ukraine in their war with Putin, feels an awful lot like when Covid started in 2020.  2 weeks to slow the spread they told us, dragged on for over 2 years with pockets of resistance still in effect.  With Ukraine, it started out with just sending much needed weapons.  That’s fair.  Ukraine is the second most corrupt country in Europe, but that’s because of the degenerate government and not the fault of its people.  Weapons, we were initially told, would be all that we would be sending Ukraine. Well, that turned out to be a lie as the price tag continued to increase, with billions and billions in aid, missiles and tanks.  All with the promise, that after each time, that’s as far as the United States was going to go.  Now we’re actually thinking of sending fighter jets to Ukraine.  I mean, does anyone in the Biden administration have a lick of common sense?  If Putin needed any more provocation…that would probably be the final nail in the coffin.  This war in Ukraine is beginning to feel like it could be a 20 year drawn out Afghanistan if we don’t put a stop to it soon.  Worse than that, is the potential calamity of poking the nose of a bear that’s looking for any excuse to get what he wants, up to and including using nuclear weapons.  We are funding and fighting a proxy war that should’ve ended with the initial financial aid and weapons and that’s it.  Instead, the Biden administration, and those in congress…republicans and democrats…have unabashedly squandered taxpayers’ dollars in what seems like a never-ending money train to Ukraine.

How About Joe Shows a Tenth of the Concern for Our Borders as he Does Ukraine’s

Americans are starting to get tired of another war that could potentially go one for some time, and is costing the American taxpayer to the tune of over 100 billion dollars.  In addition,  it is becoming quite clear that Biden and the democrats care more about everyone else’s financial well being, safety, and borders than they do their own country.  With high inflation, out of control food prices, and fuel prices creeping upwards again, couldn’t the Federal government find a better way to spend that money here in the United States where it is needed?  How about we solve the problems we have here before we try and solve the problems of everyone outside of our borders…just a thought.  But instead, we have the likes of Rino’s like Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham, joining the democrats and claiming vociferously, that it’s our American duty to defend Ukraine’s borders.  It’s become so ironic and dumbfounding, that thankfully Americans are getting wise to irresponsibly funding Ukraine’s government.  In a Pew Research Poll, 40% of republicans, and 15% of democrats have said our aid to Ukraine is too much.  That might not seem significant, but it is up from from when the invasion began.  To put things in perspective, the United States has given double what the rest of the world has given to Ukraine, has surpassed in one year what we gave to Afghanistan in 20 years, and is more than we gave South Vietnam between 1956 and 1975.  Are the democrats and Joe Biden hawkish on war…you betcha!
