It must have been fun to be able to go to the Super Bowl and finally not have to wear a mask, or that’s at least what celebrity elites were promoting, as they socialized with family, friends and loved ones. There’s still an indoor mask mandate for Los Angeles, and at SoFi Stadium where the Super Bowl was held, requiring all patrons, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask. Yet, the Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, broke his own mandates once again, going around maskless, while he is still forcing kids to muzzle up at school. It’s ok though, Mayor Garcetti can apparently hold his breath for a really long time, making us all safe from contracting the Covid. Mayor Eric Garcetti is a clown. Celebrities like Charlize Theron, Sean Penn, Jay-Z, Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell, Ellen Degeneres, Jennifer Lopez, LeBron James, and Matt Damon, just to name a few, ignored the mask mandate as well, and broadcasted to the world that the mask mandates were rules for thee and not for me. Politicians and celebrities looking down at the fans and saying…let them eat cake.
LA county’s mask mandate:
- It is important for everyone to continue to wear masks indoors and in crowded outdoor places. Masks help protect both you and others from spreading COVID-19.
- In Los Angeles County, everyone 2 years of age and older must wear a mask in all indoor public places and at outdoor Mega Events, whether they have been vaccinated or not. See Mask Wearing Rules and Recommendations for other situations when masks must be worn.
- An effective mask has both good fit and good filtration. A good fit means that the mask covers your mouth and nose and fits snugly against the sides of your face and your nose. Good filtration means the material that the mask is made of blocks the virus well. You can get good filtration by wearing a mask that has several layers made of certain materials.
- While all masks provide some level of protection, well-fitting respirators (e.g., N95 and KN95) provide the best protection. Wearing a highly protective mask is important for high risk situations and for people at increased risk for severe disease.
Celebrities and Politicians are Disconnected From Reality
The Super Bowl was a perfect example why fans just don’t think celebrities are sincere anymore and are just a bunch of hypocrites. While Ellen Degeneres makes her audience mask up, she’s going maskless at another indoor event. While Sean Penn’s preaching to us about Covid safety, he’s enjoying himself maskless at the Super Bowl. While Jennifer Lopez is partying it up with Ben Affleck at the Super Bowl yesterday, she tells everyone on Instagram to #wearamask. Charlize Theron has been a big proponent for masks as well, yet she’s seen not donning one at the Super Bowl. The list goes on and on and on, but you get the point. The Mayor of Los Angeles, and these hypocrite celebrities don’t care a wit about Covid. If they did, they would be wearing masks. Politicians and celebrities were never serious about Covid, they just saw Covid as another bandwagon to get on that made them feel good, because most of them are a bunch of narcissists anyway. And what happened as a result? Celebrities helped facilitate a visceral division in this country, that is going to take a long time to recover from. Celebrities apathy towards Covid, and the fans that fuel their economy, is just one more way they have proven how disconnected with the real world they actually are.
Here’s the video of every celebrity without a mask during the Super Bowl. But every kid in California will have to be wearing them tomorrow in school. They must all be holding their breaths the entire game. pic.twitter.com/Dc9yVd7RPf

LA Mayor @ericgarcetti once again ignoring the mask mandate. That’s the second game in a row (last time he said he was holding his breath), but they are still forcing kids to wear masks every day. pic.twitter.com/PaGRhbye2x

We are Living in Two Different Worlds Right Now
If politicians and celebrities cared at all, they might actually step up and demand that the least vulnerable to Covid, the kids, not be forced to wear masks. Children, who have a 100% survivability rate from this virus, are the ones who are unnecessarily suffering more. Why? No one can ever give us a straight answer, because if they did, they would tell us it was about fear and control. Meanwhile, you have the fool of a Mayor in LA telling reporters, when asked about going maskless, he responds by saying that he held his breath so that no one would catch Covid. What a Moron. 71,000 maskless fans at SoFi Stadium, but we’re worried about the kids. If celebrities had any courage at all, they would come out and say how they feel about Covid and mandates…but they don’t and won’t, because they are cowards. The powers at be are more worried about their pockets than what is happening to our kids. It’s shameful and these celebrities should be held to account. We are absolutely living in two different worlds right now, and Super Bowl LVI was a shining example of those two different realities.
