Kathy Hochul is on a mission to take away guns from law abiding New York State citizens. Three weeks ago, the Supreme Court ruled on ‘New York Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen’, in favor of New Yorkers right to conceal carry for the purpose of self defense. This was another concise and strong defense of the second amendment, and will probably have implications across the country in similar states and cities that have similar laws. Governor Hochul didn’t like this ruling, and in unprecedented swift fashion for any politician, helped get legislation passed, that will make it nearly impossible for New Yorkers to get a conceal carry permit, let alone carry that concealed gun. Kathy Hochul and her one party rule legislature, made it clear that they care more about the agenda of taking away your Constitutional rights, rather than the soaring crime rates. In Hochul’s own words, she could care less about the numbers and data and what New Yorkers want, even in the face of the everyday violence New Yorkers are being subjected to. Hochul needs to be defeated in November, or it’s going to get much worse for New Yorkers.
The Second Amendment was Fortified and Protected
The Supreme Court three weeks ago, decided on ‘New York Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen’, which basically challenged a New York private citizens right to bear arms outside of their residence. New York was saying that the right to self defense outside the home wasn’t proper cause to conceal carry a gun. New York Rifle and Pistol association argued that the right to self defense doesn’t just stop at the borders of one’s home. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and the Conservative majority on the court agreed, stating that Americans don’t have one right for home protection, and then a second outside of the home
“The constitutional right to bear arms in public for self defense is not “a second-class right, subject to an entirely different body of rules than the other Bill of Rights guarantees.” We know of no other constitutional right that an individual may exercise only after demonstrating to government officers some special need. That is not how the First Amendment works when it comes to unpopular speech or the free exercise of religion. It is not how the Sixth Amendment works when it comes to a defendant’s right to confront the witnesses against him. And it is not how the Second Amendment works when it comes to public carry for self defense. New York’s proper-cause requirement violates the Fourteenth Amendment in that it prevents law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defense needs from exercising their right to keep and bear arms.”
“In this case, petitioners and respondents agree that ordinary, law-abiding citizens have a similar right to carry handguns publicly for their self-defense.”
“We too agree, and now hold, consistent with Heller and McDonald, that the Second and Fourteenth Amendments protect an individual’s right to carry a handgun for self-defense outside the home.”
This was a big win for protecting the second amendment, and a big win for New Yorkers who are sick and tired of not being able to protect themselves while out in public. But Governor Hochul wasn’t having any of it, and went on unhinged rants about going back to a time when there were only muskets, and that this ruling was going to make New Yorkers less safe.
“It is outrageous that at a moment of national reckoning on gun violence, the Supreme Court has recklessly struck down a New York law that limits those who can carry concealed weapons.”
“I’m sorry this dark day has come, that we’re supposed to go back to what was in place since 1788 when the Constitution of the United States of America was ratified. And I would like to point out to the Supreme Court justices that the only weapons at the time were muskets. I’m prepared to go back to muskets.”
“Just as we swiftly passed nation-leading gun reform legislation, I will continue to do everything in my power to keep New Yorkers safe from gun violence.”
Because the criminals that are killing law abiding citizens in the streets are worried about a conceal carry permit, right?
Let me be clear: This is New York. We don't back down, we fight back.
New York is still home to the strongest gun laws in the country & I'll keep doing everything in my power to keep New Yorkers safe. pic.twitter.com/4yC4qmgVxV

Make Law Abiding Citizens Less Safe
This ruling will not only help keep New Yorkers safe, it will reduce violent crimes. You only have to look at other states like New Hampshire to prove that point. But instead, Hochul and the Democrat led legislature, in a special session, went to work and passed legislation that will make it almost impossible for any New Yorker to conceal carry or have that conceal carry weapon in any locations in New York State. The new legislation bans guns on public transportation, shelters, government buildings, poll sites, places of worship, health facilities, establishments that serve alcohol, mlibraries, day cares, zoos, museums, theaters, stadiums, public playgrounds, parks, and Times Square. In addition, firearms will not be welcome in private businesses, unless the property owner places a visible sign stating otherwise. Applicants for a conceal carry permit, will also have to submit to 16 hours of in person firearm training, sit for an interview, and submit 3 months of social media history. The legislation is so convoluted, it makes trying to get a conceal carry permit, or a gun, a headache and an inconvenience. But I guess that was the point. Why make anything easier for law abiding citizens in New York State.

Nothing to See Here, Violent Crime is Fine
Hochul’s attempt to subvert the Supreme Court’s ruling, is a move to appease the radical left in her party, and in no way makes New Yorkers safer. If anything, these new laws will make them less safe, because now Hochul and her lunatic Democrat led majority legislature, are advertising all the new gun free zones. You only have to look at the recent killing of a thug by a bodega owner, who defended himself with a work cutter, instead of being able to own a hand gun that would have ended the situation in minutes with possibly no one getting killed. But instead, the bodega owner was charged with murder for defending himself. You literally can’t make the lunacy up. But hey, Kathy Hochul doesn’t need the data to see that gun violence by criminal thugs is up in New York State, because she has a responsibility to have sensible gun safety laws.
Anne: Do you have numbers to show that it’s the concealed carry permit holders that are committing crimes?
Hochul: I don’t need to have numbers. I don’t need to have a data point to say this. I know that I have a responsibility for this state to have sensible gun safety laws. pic.twitter.com/NiCp7POO88

It’s Going to Get Worse if Kathy Hochul is Elected
Throughout Hochul’s brief administration, she has done everything to punish the law abiding average New Yorker, and rewarded or enabled the law breakers. She masked kids in school until March of this year, is getting ready to pass legislation that will take away parents’ ability to make medical choices for their kids, has done nothing to thwart the terrible bail reform laws that are putting felons back onto the streets, is stifling your second amendment rights, and is going to ban gas guzzling cars and buildings before the decade is out. New York is already one of the most expensive and regulated states to live in. Making it harder for New Yorkers to own or conceal carry a gun to defend themselves is just going to be another reason that voters ditch Hochul for a New York that is safe and more affordable. If Hochul is elected governor in November, New Yorkers might think it’s bad now, wait until an unfettered Kathy Hochul reigns free. The legislation just waiting to get passed, on a day one of a Hochul administration, will make Gavin Newsom look like a moderate Republican. New Yorkers will be reliving the days of Mayor David Dinkins.
It’s All About the Agenda
Hochul’s new legislation on gun ownership and conceal carry is clearly prohibitive to the average New Yorker being able to defend themselves. For example, the chances of becoming a victim of a violent crime in New York City is 1 in 172. In New York Sate it’s 1 in 287. Compare that with a State like New Hampshire that has open carry where your chances of becoming the victim of a violent crime, are 1 in 689. The math is there and there’s no disputing it. The legislation is unconstitutional, and will more than likely find its way through the courts, where we will see another Supreme Court ruling defending the second amendment. It’s amazing, given the violent crime we’re seeing week after week in New York, that Hochul wouldn’t be more inclined to let New Yorkers practice their second amendment rights, and defend themselves. But that’s not the agenda, and the agenda for Democrats, always outweighs the actual needs of their constituents.
