What a political sham the outcry from the left is to have more gun control after the mass shootings in Buffalo, NY, Uvalde, Texas, and in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There were 46 shot and 6 killed in Chicago, 15 shot and 12 killed in Philadelphia, and 3 shot and 4 killed in Baltimore over the Memorial Day weekend. Where was Joe Biden’s sympathy, or Chuck Schumer’s press conferences, or the mainstream media’s coverage on that violence? We heard crickets because it doesn’t fit their narrative and it isn’t politically convenient. The left continues to propagandize these isolated incidents, and more specifically school shootings, to hopefully win over support for chipping away at Americans second amendment rights. They parade an actor like Mathew McConaughey at a press conference, to deceptively sway those in the middle that he wants common sense gun control(he advocates for the complete ban of AR-15’s) while supporting the second amendment. New York State just passed gun control legislation that forbids the sale of assault rifles to anyone under the age of 21. Age isn’t the problem. The average age of mass shooters in this country is 33 years old. If Democrats were serious about protecting kids in schools, they wouldn’t be trying to punish law abiding gun owners, and would get to the root cause of why these school shootings happen.
Democrats Are Enabling Bad Behavior
It is sad and unfortunate what happened in Buffalo, Uvalde, and Tulsa. But one act of violence can’t be more important than the other if anyone wants to sound remotely serious about finding solutions to mass shootings. If the left was serious about their concern for the mass shootings that took place in the last couple of weeks, then they should be just as serious about the weekly murders in liberals cities such as Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York, and Chicago, but they are not. Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York, and Chicago, have some of the strictest gun laws in the country, yet crime, murders, and mass shootings are at their highest. So are more gun laws needed, or do we need to be a little tougher with gun laws that already exist? One of the reasons we are seeing rampant crime and violence in these cities, is because of a lax commitment to actually prosecute and punish criminals, ever since George Floyd. Liberal cities across the country have been obsessed with defunding the police, and ever since, we are seeing the ramifications of their soft on crime approach. Democrats are enabling criminals to repeat offend.

Democrats Never Let a Good Crisis Go to Waste
Democrats never let a good crisis go to waste. Any school shooting where a child loses their life is a horrific tragedy. But taking advantage of that situation, to push forward a political narrative is selfish, ignorant, and short sighted. If Democrats were serious and honest about their gun control beliefs, then they would push to ban hand guns, which have accounted for about 76% of mass shootings between 1982 and 2022. But they won’t because they know any nonsense like that would be shot down in a millisecond. Instead, they want to backdoor taking away Americans second amendment rights, by going after AR-15’s.

Just Another Predictable Performance and Ploy From the Biden Administration
The Biden administration and Democrats using Mathew McConaughey to help persuade Republicans and others on the right, is just another emotional ploy and tactic to not be taken seriously. McConaughey is from Uvalde, Texas, and I’m sure he is honest in how he feels about what happened in Uvalde. Unfortunately, because the Democrats and Joe Biden are never honest or true about their intent, McConaughey’s speech at a press conference just falls short, and was a bit predictable. McConaughey has been a big proponent of taking away AR-15’s. Did he have a sudden change of heart during his press conference and op-ed he wrote in the Austin-American Statesman? Not at all, and you can discern what he really wants in the interview he gave with Bret Baier after his performance at the press secretary’s lectern.

“But the consensus word that I’m hearing and phrase is that this time is different, that there is some more momentum, that, on the Right, there are some things that they’re willing not staunchly say no to and consider, that on the Left, they’re willing to say, you know what, we may want the whole loaf, but we will take a slice of bread.”
Chip, chip, away at those second amendment rights, until we end up like Canada and Australia when it’s too late, and law abiding Americans can no longer defend themselves against criminals and murderers….or a tyrannical government.

Democrats Are Not Serious About Mass Shootings
If Democrats were serious about getting to the heart of protecting kids in schools from these lunatics, then they would look into the mental health issues of these men, and would allow for their behaviors to follow them after they turn 18. As soon as these young men turn 18, their past behavior prior, basically vanishes. All of these mass school shootings were perpetrated by very disturbed individuals, that in some cases were known by the schools before the incidents happened. The Parkland shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, is a perfect example of how a lack of disciplinary action and a coddling of a clearly disturbed individual, with all the warning signs, enabled that mass school shooting to happen. Taking away guns and gun ownership rights from law abiding American citizens, is not going to stop a madman from shooting up a place if that is their intent. No amount of waiting periods, as McConaughey suggests we should have, is going to stop someone from killing. Murders, mass shootings, and criminal behavior is happening because blue cities, counties, states, and Democrats, have enabled bad behavior through a lack of discipline. Democrats aren’t serious about solving mass shooting problems. There are mass shootings every weekend in blue cities across the country. Democrats are using recent mass shootings, as an emotional tug at heart strings, to get more control of law abiding Americans rights…plain and simple.
