William Shatner is the man. He is revered in the Star Trek fandom, and is an idol and hero to many, including this intrepid writer, who looks to his role as Captain Kirk as an inspiration on a daily basis. At the authoritative San Diego comic-con, where you were muzzled and mandated to produce a health pass for entry, William Shatner might have just put the final nail in Alex Kurtzman’s Shart Trek. An abomination of epic proportions compared to the original series, Alex Kurtzman’s Star Trek, which includes ‘Discovery’, ‘Picard’, ‘Strange New Worlds’, and ‘Lower Decks’, has gone out of its way to destroy the original series, doing everything from destroying canon, to making a joke of the original characters. At SDCC, Shatner made it very clear that he is no fan of the current crop of new Star Trek offerings. Would fans deny that William Shatner speaks the truth about the train wreck that is Alex Kurtzman’s Star Trek? Not a chance. This cannot be good news for Kurtzman or Paramount. Shatner is the Holy Grail when it comes to Star Trek, and when he speaks, fans tend to listen and take heed.
William Shatner Hates New ‘Shart Trek
At San Diego Comic-con last week, William Shatner, was asked if he liked, and what he thought of the new Star Trek series’. William Shatner, one to never mince words, said he didn’t like any of them, and that Gene Roddenberry would be rolling over in his grave.
“None of them. I got to know Gene Roddenberry in three years fairly well, he’d be turning in his grave at some of this stuff.”
Alex Kurtzman and Paramount cannot be happy about that. “The” captain of the original Starship Enterprise, just gave a huge thumbs down to Alex Kurtzman’s abomination he calls Star Trek, essentially siding with millions of fans who hate what Kurtzman and Paramount have allowed to happen to Star Trek. It was a great affirmation to know that the man who brought captain James Tiberius Kirk to life agrees.
In New Trek, Vulcans Have Casual Sex?
Alex Kurtzman’s version of Star Trek is dark, boring, lifeless, without hope, devoid of any kind of actual character development, and all of his shows don’t seem to have any understanding or knowledge of what came before. Or if they do, then their disregard for the original series is intentional. I think it’s a little of both. For example, in ‘Strange New Worlds’, young Science Officer Spock, has displays of public affection for T’Pring, which ends up in the assumption afterwards, that they had copulated. This is not only antithetical to the Spock character, but doesn’t happen on Vulcan…ever. Vulcans only display affection for one another during a male Vulcan’s Pon Farr, which happens every 7 years of their adult life, or with the touching of each of the Vulcans two fingers…and that is often rare as well. Casual sex among two Vulcans is unheard of. ‘Discovery’ had a scene in season 3 episode 2 in which they defamed creator Gene Roddenberry. In the scene, a crewman is seen shoveling body parts into a hazmat container, without a hazmat suit mind you, and Commander Jett Reno played by Tig Notaro, insults the fellow crew member by condescendingly calling him Hazmat instead of by his real name. The crewman turns to her and meekly responds by saying, actually my name is Gene…after which point Commander Reno says to the crewmen that she had already forgot his name. Not only is that condescending and disrespectful, and would never happen in Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek, it’s an outright slap in the face to Gene Roddenberry himself. Gene Roddenbeery’s Star Trek was sacrosanct to the mutual respect all crew members had for one another. This doesn’t occur in any of Kurtzman’s Star Trek, and reminds me more of bad soap opera, than actual good storytelling.
Kurtzman Trek Alienates Half the Audience With its Left Leaning Politics
Kurtzman Shart Trek just doesn’t fail with bad storytelling and canon breaking inconsistencies, it’s also filled to the brim with left leaning politics and representation. Stacey Abrams, the divisive candidate in Georgia’s governor race, made a cameo as the President of The Federation of Planets, a young James Kirk in Strange New Worlds, is rumored to be gay or bisexual, there are no main white male characters on ‘Discovery’, and is a smorgasbord of LGBTQ representation. In ‘Strange New Worlds’ pilot episode, the January 6th riots were blamed for a second civil war that destroyed the planet. ‘Picard’ season 2, shows the United States in 2024, and portrays U.S. immigration officials as uncaring, evil, authoritarians that will lead earth into a fascist dictatorship, that makes its way to space and begins to terrorize all the aliens of the galaxy. I mean, come on man, but that’s just the tip of all the nonsense that represents current Star Trek.

Hail William Shatner
William Shatner speaks for all fans of Star Trek that hate what Alex Kurtzman has done to their favorite franchise. Corporate media shills love to defend Alex Kurtzman’s version of Star Trek, and say that it’s just as progressive and inclusive as the original…so what’s your problem? Star Trek might have been progressive, but it was never displayed as politically one sided and divisive as Kurtzman’s Trek is. Kurtzman’s Trek purposely alienates half of the audience. The point is, that Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek was politically neutral and more specifically, was never in your face . The amount of representation, lack of representation, and outright disrespect for the original series is on full frontal display, showcasing just how bad, talentless, and shallow their show runners and writers actually are. All hail William Shatner for speaking the plain truth about the desecration of what Star Trek used to stand for, and what it has now become.
