Disney Has Lost Its Way

Disney is about the most gutless company there is out there.  In another appeasement to the radical, self centered, anti-family left, Bob Chapek couldn’t leave well enough alone, and decided to come off the fence, and take the side of the population that wants to teach your kids about sexual identity, genders, and orientations.  Florida’s ‘Parental Rights in Education Bill’, that the left has cowardly called the “don’t say gay” bill, prohibits the teaching of sex and sexual orientation, gender studies, etc…to kids under the age of 7, and gives that control solely to parents.  But Disney, being the ultimate fence sitters, finally had their hands forced, and thought it would be best to bend the knee to those lunatics on the left, that think teaching your kids about being non-binary, transgender, or homosexual, was ok.  The bill itself focuses squarely on very young children, who should be more focused on being kids, than being confused by an educator that thinks they know what’s best for parents’ children.  The problem Disney has, is that over the last 5 years or so, they have decided to partake in the political fray.  Unfortunately, in politics these days, it’s hard to play both sides of the aisle.  As a result, Disney has lost its way, and consistently favored the radical left on Twitter, resulting in an abandonment of traditional family values, and those that just want to escape and be entertained.

Disney Has Lost Its Way

Disney Has Become an Activist for Non-Traditional Causes

Disney claims to be a company devoted to family, while at the same time advocating for political issues like sexual orientations, homosexuality, racism, diversity, inclusion, and abortion  Why has Disney all of a sudden placed themselves in a position where they thought it was mandatory to promote these things?  Disney traditionally has never commented or taken action on anything remotely political(I know Walt himself was political, but that was the last instance), and has, for the most part remained quite neutral.  The short answer is Twitter and the Presidential election of 2016.  The left became maniacally unhinged, and became a mob that forced their will on corporations for fear of getting a bad reputation.  Instead of just not saying anything, and let customers make up their own minds about these kinds of subjects, Disney has stoked the fire and made things worse.  Virtue signaling and pandering to the left is not going to get you anywhere, because it’s never enough.  Bob Chapek bent the knee to the LGBTQ community over the ‘Parental Rights in Education Bill’, and now women’s rights and abortion rights groups are coming out of the woodwork, calling out Disney for their silence on those matters.  It will never end until Disney says enough is enough, and gets out of the political thunder dome.

Disney’s Silence on China’s Abuses are Shameful

What makes it even worse for Disney, is how hypocritical they are when it comes to these issues.  They would easily, and lazily, condemn those on the right for alleged human and social rights issues here at home, while ignoring true human rights issues abroad in places like China.  The Chinese market is crucial to Disney, so criticizing them will never happen. Disney has up until this past week, refused to answer questions from its shareholders, if Disney is sourcing any of its materials from China’s Xinjiang province, where as many as 1 million Uyghurs are alleged to have been forced into detention camps.  And let’s not forget, that Disney thanked the province of Xinjiang for its help with ‘Mulan’.  Homeland Security has upheld that the alleged abuses of the Uyghurs is true.  Disney, according to an article from Bloomberg, has high stakes in China’s market.

“Disney spent $5.5 billion developing Shanghai Disneyland, is expanding its smaller park in Hong Kong, and has also has long coveted its own TV channel in China.”

In addition, Disney has kissed the ring of China’s abuses by omitting an episode of the Simpsons in Hong Kong, that criticizes the Tiananmen square incident.

“Walt Disney Co.’s newly introduced streaming service in Hong Kong has an episode missing from “The Simpsons” that satirizes China’s suppression of information about the 1989 Tiananmen crackdown. The omission, and the subsequent silence from the entertainment company’s public relations spokespeople, is a sign of how corporate America continues to grapple uncomfortably with how to engage in a market that doesn’t share the U.S. commitment to freedom of speech.”

The LGBTQ Community is More Intolerant Than They Claim The Right Is

The most glaring lie about the ‘Parental Rights in Education Bill’, is what it’s being referred to in the mainstream media.  They have labeled the ‘Parental Rights in Education Bill’, “the don’t say gay bill”.  It’s an outright lie and nowhere states in the bill that you can’t say gay, and in fact allows kids to talk about subjects of sexual identity if it is brought about solely by the kids themselves.  This bill specifically prohibits educators, from teaching or discussing anything related to sex and sexual orientations in the classroom to those children under the age of 7.  How is that an affront to anyone in the LGBTQ community?  You would think they would be all for parents having the authority in those areas.  But because the LGBTQ community always feels like they are being singled out, they need to target little kids, using this bill to get their point across.  It’s sick.  Progressive teachers, educators, and Democrats, in Florida, that have protested and stood against this bill, have not once said anything about how teaching about sexual identity and orientations would affect kids under the age of 7.  Instead, they are crying about how it will affect the LGBTQ community in general.  That’s dishonest, cowardly, and intolerant of parents rights concerning their kids.

Bob Chapek and Disney are Beholden to the Radical Left

Bob Chapek was doing the right thing when he stayed silent about Florida’s ‘Parental Rights in Education Bill’.  But of course, right on cue, Disney and Bob Chapek were forced to bend the knee to an intolerant mob.  And why?  Because adult lunatics on the left, feel they are being slighted against, because children under 7 won’t be taught about being gay or non-binary?  That’s absurd and not for them to decide.   It’s the parents’ authority what they teach their kids, and Disney taking the side of a minuscule portion of the population, over the majority of the population is very telling in an unsurprising way, and especially for a company that touts family values above all else.  Disney and Bob Chapek have really felt at home, for some reason, backing themselves into this woke corner, thinking it would be good for their reputation, when all it really does, is show how beholden to the radical left they actually are.

Fake Outrage to get More Attention While Sacrificing Kids Mental Well Being

Instead of just staying out of the politics, and letting things fall where they may, Bob Chapek told shareholders on Wednesday, that the’Parental Rights in Education Bill’, could unfairly target those families in the LGBTQ community.  Is there evidence of this?  The only thing this bill targets is protecting young children and their parents’ authority over their moral education.  Here is the bill itself:

Parental Rights in Education; Requires district school boards to adopt procedures that comport with certain provisions of law for notifying student’s parent of specified information; requires such procedures to reinforce fundamental right of parents to make decisions regarding upbringing & control of their children; prohibits school district from adopting procedures or student support forms that prohibit school district personnel from notifying parent about specified information or that encourage student to withhold from parent such information; prohibits school district personnel from discouraging or prohibiting parental notification & involvement in critical decisions affecting student’s mental, emotional, or physical well-being; prohibits classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in certain grade levels; requires school districts to notify parents of healthcare services; authorizes parent to bring action against school district to obtain declaratory judgment; provides for additional award of injunctive relief, damages, & reasonable attorney fees & court costs to certain parents.

Did Bob Chapek read the bill, or is just easier and convenient to ignore the facts and side with the mainstream media mob?  Obviously the latter.

No Respect for a State That Allowed Disney to Thrive

What’s even more hysterical, is that Bob Chapek is opposing the very State that allowed Disney World to remain open.  Bob Chapek didn’t get that kind of respect from Gavin Newsome.  California kept DisneyLand closed up until 10 months ago.  If it weren’t for Disney World, Bob Chapek and Disney would have lost a ton more money than they did during the Pandemic.  But, instead of thanking Ron DeSantis, Bob Chapek would rather give Ron DeSantis the figurative middle finger, and fight him in the political arena.  Well, thank God Ron DeSantis is not putting up with it.

Disney Has Lost Its Way

The bottom line, is that Disney doesn’t really care about your politics.  They care about the dollars you will spend.  So, if that means cozying up and defending activists, countries like China that abuse their own citizens, or propagate white supremacy and white privilege to their employees, Disney will comply every time. Disney’s entertainment used to be for everybody.  But when you have a company that prefers one side of the political aisle vs the other, you are abandoning half of your paying customers.  Disney is a company geared towards kids entertainment, that is being co-opted, not only from activists on the outside, but from activists on the inside.  Disney is not alone in being an activist punching bag, Pixar is getting it from their own employees as well.  They are claiming Pixar purposely avoids and takes out elements from their movies that portray LGBTQ themes.  So?  Again, this is a company built on making magic for kids.  Disney shouldn’t be the arbitars of LGBTQ stances in their movies.  It’s not their place, and should solely be the responsibility of parents.  You are a company geared towards making children smile and have fun, yet you are promoting and peddling very adult topics.  It’s subversive and deviant, and you have lost your way.
