If anyone thought that Bob Chapek didn’t support woke, diversity and inclusion, representation, identity politics, or whatever you want to call it, because we are seeing a glimmer of light with respect to Star Wars, Indiana Jones 5 being pushed back for “reshoots”, ‘Ms. Marvel’ having six weeks of  reshoots, and ‘Dr. Strange’ having six weeks of reshoots, I have a bridge to sell you.  Bob Chapek is part of the problem. Until we see the final products of these woke travesty’s calling themselves entertainment, we can only rely on the evidence before us.  Peter Dinklage, of Game of Thrones fame, came out and blasted Disney for reimagining Snow White as a race swapped Latina, but not culturally responding to replacing the dwarves in ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarves’.  What?  Imaginary face palm.  And of course like good little appeasers, Disney acquiesced, bent the knee, and promised that they would try harder.  If Bob Chapek really meant what he said in the memo he released last week about unrelenting focus on the audience, then why is he allowing the woke to continue.

Story Will Always Suffer if You’re Always Focused on Representation

The ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarves’ isn’t even in production yet, and is already doomed to fail.  They have race swapped Snow White with a Latina actress, and are now talking with those in the Dwarfism community on how to culturally represent dwarves without offending them.  I’m sorry, but fans are not going to watch a ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarves’ movie without Snow White and the seven dwarves.  If Peter Dinklage is offended because an animated classic had dwarves in it, he doesn’t have to watch it, but don’t punish little kids from seeing their favorite characters in a live action movie, because you have an issue with it.  That’s your problem, not theirs.  And the last I checked, the seven dwarves were pretty brave and heroic, and were the stars of the movie.  You’re going to have kids watching this confused reimagining, tapping their parents on the shoulder, asking them what the heck they are watching.  Disney actually has cultural consultants on the payroll, to try and avoid offending everyone in every community.  They had them for Mulan, look how well that turned out.  How can you focus on story if you’re constantly focused on not offending anyone.

Disney is Pathetic and Weak Kneed

On Marc Maron’s podcast WTF, Peter Dinklage came out and slammed Disney for being proactive to the race swapped casting for Snow White, but not the seven dwarves.

“Literally no offense to anyone, but I was a little taken aback when they were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White — but you’re still telling the story of Snow White and the SevenDwarfs. Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there. It makes no sense to me. You’re progressive in one way, but then you’re still making that fu****g backward story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together? What the f**k are you doing, man? Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soapbox? I guess I’m not loud enough.”

I didn’t hear Dinklage offer a solution.  Maybe because it’s really just about making sure he is heard.  And by the way, Mr. Dinklage, the seven dwarves live in a cabin and work in a mine .  Did you actually watch ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarves?  Disney of course responded(to The Hollywood Reporter) immediately, like a dog wagging its excited tail, waiting for a dog biscuit

“To avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film, we are taking a different approach with these seven characters and have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community. We look forward to sharing more as the film heads into production after a lengthy development period.”

Let’s Make the Seven Dwarves a Representation of Every Culture and Race

Peter Dinklage has made a pretty big name for himself as an A list actor, and no one is taking away from his talent.  But I think Dinklage needs to take a step back and look at the whole picture.  He has benefited from his success because fans of his went to see his work.  I’m sure a lot of his fans are also fans of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarves’.  Dinklage is blasting a company that was born out of making fairy tales come to life.  It’s pure fantasy and not based in reality.  No one cares who or what is culturally represented in these made for children fantasy movies.  Fans go to these movies to escape, not to take record of who is culturally represented.  If you care so much about the way the dwarves are represented in Snow White, then maybe you should make your own version of the movie that would satisfy you.  I thought people of all different communities and cultures wanted and desired to see themselves represented on the big screen.  So what is Dinklage’s problem?  The dwarves in ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarves’, are heroes.  Isn’t that how you would want to be represented Mr. Dinklage?  And what is your solution?  Does Disney just simply get rid of the dwarves?  What does Disney replace them with?  ‘Snow White and the Seven Really Boring Diversity and Inclusion Conglomerate’?

Bob Chapek is Part of the Problem

The fans are sick and tired of actors preaching from their soapboxes and telling us to do better, while they systematically destroy our favorite franchises.  This is why Hollywood is failing, and this is why Disney will continue to fail.  Bob Chapek is fueling the diversity and inclusion, and you have to go no further than Disney’s Reimagine Tomorrow campaign which is still alive and well, teaching their employees how to hate and blame people for their white privilege.  It’s racist on its face and should be thrown out immediately.  Bob Chapek is not the answer to Disney’s problems at the box office, he’s just another cause that is allowing the wokeness to continue, instead of standing firm on his Three Pillars.  The Three Pillars, in my opinion, are just empty platitudes, to a very angry fanbase.  If Bob Chapek truly wants to get back to earning money, he needs to make a choice and either make content that unites, tells great stories, and is fun and exciting, or make content that continues to divide and tell its fans we don’t care what you have to say.  With the list of woke crap that will be coming out of Disney in the next year, I don’t see a profitable box office in their future.
