This is an update from an article I posted yesterday. Arnold Schwarzenegger has lost REDCON1 as a major supplement sponsor of Arnold’s bodybuilding events. The Aftermath of Schwarzenegger’s comments, in which he told Americans to screw their freedom and called them schmucks for not getting vaccinated or wear a mask, during an interview on his YouTube channel, is starting to have real ramifications. Aaron Singerman, bodybuilder enthusiast and founder of REDCON1 supplements has decided to not sponsor or appear at any of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s bodybuilding events. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Singerman explained his reasons why he made the very difficult decision.
“After much deliberation, we have decided at REDCON1 to no longer sponsor the Arnold Classic or any of the Arnold events around the world, and also not attend the Arnold events. Over the years I’ve overlooked a lot of stuff; you probably too, I’ve overlooked a lot of stuff with Arnold where I said ‘Well, that’s just Arnold, right?’ And because we love him so much we just keep overlooking, and overlooking, and overlooking. Well, unfortunately, his most recent comments… so, when somebody says ‘screw your freedom’ I can’t, and REDCON1 can’t in good conscious continue to spend, you know hundreds of thousands of dollars sponsoring that person or show with a name honoring that person.”
Aaron Singerman Has a Very Strong Belief in America
Singerman went on to explain further why he made the decision and that it wasn’t because of partisan or political ideas but purely because of his own beliefs about America.
“America is great because there’s freedoms. Arnold is free to say the things he wants to say, right? He may say things I totally disagree with. Somebody else may say things that I find disgusting. That’s what makes America great. You have the ability to say it. I have the ability to disagree. I’m voting with the REDCON1 dollars that I don’t want to be any part of that.”
Singerman ended the video by adding that America is great because you have the freedom to choose. You can choose to wear a mask or not wear a mask. You can choose to get a vaccine or not a get a vaccine. All of these things are your choice and you have the freedom to make those choices because we live in the greatest country on the planet. He also asserted that he doesn’t believe in cancelling anyone including Arnold. I thought that was key because that is one of the main problems with our culture these days. Social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram are easy communications outlets for triggered checkmarks to try and cancel someone just because they disagree with said triggered checkmarks opinions. If you are truly American then any opinion counts whether you disagree with it or not. To cancel anyone for an opinion is just absurd.
Singerman Went on to Further Explain Why He is not Supporting Arnold
In a related Instagram post, Singerman went on to further explain why he is no longer supporting Arnold Schwarzenegger.
“For the last 15 years I’ve been attending the Arnold Classic, and for at least a decade I’ve been a sponsor of the contest. I’ve loved Arnold as long as I remember, and credit him for my initial interest in bodybuilding and fitness. I’ve looked at him as a role model. A guy who had nothing and no advantages, who never made an excuse, and created tremendous success. He became an icon based on his work ethic, his charisma, and his grit.”
Arnold Would Not Have Been Able to Succeed Without America
Arnold Schwarzenegger should be proud to be an American and stand up for its foundation and values. If it weren’t for those values and freedoms we hold dear, Arnold wouldn’t have been able to succeed. Aaron Singerman and his company are proud Americans who back their beliefs in this country through their actions and words. He has supported the military with his REDCON1 foundation and has supported our military most recently, in a post on his Instagram account, where he thanks those servicemen who served in Afghanistan for the past 20 years. I think this is admirable and courageous what Aaron Singerman is doing and I wish more companies would stand up and defend the very freedoms that allow them to prosper.
