I have resisted in writing something like this for a long time for obvious reasons, but after listening to one of the best Youtuber’s, Doomcock, I thought there was no better time than right now. White males are being systematically erased from our great franchises and it’s being done purposefully and with great disdain and hatred of the success of those franchises. Woke Hollywood and their radical left cronies are perpetrating a complete and total erasure of all white male leads and using them as a scapegoat for the ills of the world and our past. They are being punished because of the color of their skin. The new James Bond movie, ‘No Time to Die’ came out, and I couldn’t help but feel sad for all those James Bond fans who have loved this franchise for generations. I am a James Bond fan but not a die hard fan, but what happened to James Bond in ‘No Time to Die’ was another slap in the face at fans for loving a franchise with a strong white male in the lead part. James Bond was killed as a character at the end of the movie. And not because it was fitting or made sense, but because the death of James Bond is a message, to all, that the day of having a strong white male lead in any of our beloved franchises is gone and will not be tolerated. So much for an inclusive and tolerant Hollywood.
To be White and Male in Hollywood is Taboo
I live in a world where I don’t label someone based on the color of their skin. I don’t walk around pointing the finger of blame on people or a group of people because they don’t share my color, political views, or taste in movies. I live in a world where I grew up on Star Trek and comic books where everyone communicated and debated based on mutual understandings or disagreements and solved problems together. I didn’t grow up being taught to hate…but that’s what’s being done right now. Hollywood has taken it upon themselves to wipe out the white male character in the name of equity and say it’s because of all of our white privilege and white supremacy that’s the reason. You can’t watch any TV commercial and find a single white guy, and if you do…he’s usually portrayed as an idiot or the villain. Every commercial now has a mixed race couple, gay couples, transgenders, or every race you can think of except white males. And it’s so blatant and in your face, I am always asking the question…how does this represent me? If I look right outside my window, as the woke left Hollywood tells me I should, I don’t see what they are portraying in their programming. So, why would I want to buy their product? We are living in a time where the left is teaching our kids to hate themselves if they are white, through Critical Race Theory, saying that they are racist, even though they say they are not, and that they have better opportunities than most because of their white privilege. Last I checked, we live in a country where it’s up to you to make opportunities and be as successful as you want, despite the color of your skin. It is insidious what’s being taught to our children though the education system and what they watch on TV and in the movies. I read an article recently by Frank Joyce over at Salon, in which he outright stated that white men must be stopped and reined in. This article is five years old but gets to the point at why and how half our country thinks today. What’s happening in Hollywood, by favoring one race, gender, or ethnicity over another, is discrimination and is dominating the lack of quality content we have seen in the last decade.
Whose Next on the Chopping Block
‘No Time to Die’ is just another symptom of what is wrong in Hollywood. Hollywood has joined forces with the left in government to make sure that the audience is taught to blame the patriarchy for the ills of the world. How often have we heard Marvels top dog, Kevin Feige, claim that we can’t have a powerful white guy in one of Marvels’ movies? I’ve addressed this ad nauseam, but Thor is being replaced by a woman, Iron Man is being replaced by a woman of color, Captain America has been race swapped, Ant-Man is being replaced by Wasp, Hawkeye is being replaced by a woman, The Incredible Hulk isn’t too Incredible anymore, Dr. Strange will be killed off and be replaced by Wanda Maximoff, and Spider-Man will ultimately be replaced by a person of color. So, tell me this isn’t being done on purpose. Why would any fan, who grew up imagining themselves as one of those heroes, want to go
and watch any of those characters in a theater. The paying customer of these characters are a majority male audience. But, it keeps happening and happening. Just to use an extreme example, what if Black Panther was race swapped with a white male lead? The outrage would be never ending. But that’s the point…fans would never want Black Panther race swapped because he’s a well established character in Marvel comics and was always black, just like Captain America has always been Steve Rogers and white.
Gender or Race Swapping Established Characters is a Proven Failure at the Box Office
Marvel isn’t the only studio to do this. Back in 2016, we had Sony release a version of the Ghostbusters that were all female. The movie bombed and the toxic white male audience got blamed for it. ‘Terminator: Dark fate’ starred an all female cast in which the lead cyborg looked like an androgynous male. That movie did horribly at the box office and saw the director come out and admit that maybe the movie didn’t hit with its target audience. You think? The remake of ‘Men in Black’ had a female lead and made Chris Hemsworth’s character look dumb as a box of rocks and that failed miserably. 2019’s ‘Charlie’s Angels’ remake was an abysmal failure and the director, Elizabeth Banks blamed it on men not wanting to see it because they don’t like to see strong female leads. What a crock. Anyone see Linda Hamilton in ‘Terminator 2: Judgement Day’ kick ass, or Uma Thurman in Kill Bill slice and dice, Sigourney Weaver in ‘Alien’, or Kate Beckinsale in ‘Underworld’? Fans love strong well established female leads and the history proves it. What fails at the box office are movies that pander social justice narratives and replace well established characters with a woke version that states it was better than its predecessor.
The Death Of James Bond is a Message to All Strong White Male Leads
‘No Time to Die’ was directed by someone who actively called the James Bond character a rapist that needed to be conformed and relevant to the current times. Well, that’s exactly what the director and producers behind ‘No Time to Die’ did. They killed off the James Bond character, and made a statement to white male led franchises all over the world…that there is no place for you. And who will he be replaced with? Probably a race swapped and gender swapped 007, because that’s Hollywood’s formula now. The James Bond character has always survived but been replaced by another white male lead for generations. And, why? because simply put…he was written that way. He was written as an MI:6 spy for the British government back in the 1950’s by Ian Fleming and was and has always been white. But, James Bond’s death at the end of ‘No Time to Die’ is a symbol and a message to those fans of characters that have been traditionally white. They are saying that it is ok to exclude a segment of the population from playing in these parts, and that, simply put, is racism. In my opinion, they have killed another beloved franchise all in the name of pretending to be politically relevant for a few extra bucks that they’ll never see. ‘No Time to Die’ saw a pathetic domestic opening well below initial predictions. I hope the producers and the family of Ian Fleming, who had a hand in this trash, are happy with the destruction of their fathers creation. As Doomcock always says…”Without Respect, We Reject.” And continue to reject we will.
