Hollywood Tries to Stop Newsom Recall

It is no surprise that the very liberal Hollywood elites are donating to stave off the recall efforts of Governor Gavin Newsom in California.  The very governor who has helped in the decline of the Hollywood box office, because of some of the most restrictive pandemic mandates, is now being protected by a liberal left that obviously doesn’t care about profits.  According to an article from Deadline, among those that donated are Warner Bros., Disney, The Motion Picture Association, and Paramount.  Warner Bros. donated $40,000 along with The Motion Picture Association and Paramount, while Disney donated $32,400 to Governor Newsom’s re-election campaign.

California is the Most Mismanaged State in America

In a state where there is rampant crime, efforts to defund the police in some California cities, homelessness, tourist maps of excrement piles to avoid in San Francisco(I’m not joking), and some of the most restrictive Covid Mandates in the country, you would think that Californians would want to get rid of this guy.  In addition to that, there has been a mass exodus of thousands of companies from California to states like Texas, Arizona, Tennessee, and Florida that don’t stifle business with high taxes.  Tesla, Oracle, and Hewlett Packard are just a few but are all leaving because of the massive mismanagement of California.  Disney is even getting in on the game by moving its them park headquarters from California to business friendly Florida. Disney CEO Bob Chapek expressed his frustration with Newsom last November when he said he was “extremely disappointed” because of the continued closures of the theme parks in California.  But yet, we have Disney donating in some form or another with support for Newsom.  That’s because Hollywood and big name studios care only about their big egos.

Hollywood Tries To Stop Newsom Recall

But, unfortunately, California is run by a very elite, incestuous crowd.  Just this past July, Newsom signed a bill that increased Hollywoods tax credits to $660 million.  In other words, Newson incentivized Hollywood to stay and produce their movies in California by giving them a tax break while the California taxpayers foot the bill.  It’s no wonder these Hollywood studios are backing Newsom…they benefit financially while the everyday taxpayer is struggling to make ends meat.  Hollywood and its very well paid actors should be ashamed of themselves.  They are so hypocritical as they preach their righteousness from their million dollar homes and say how bad capitalism is.  The film and tv tax credit bill,  that was signed in July at Netflix’s backyard Sunset Gower Studios, was also the same company who saw its CEO Reed Hastings donate $3 million.  If that’s not nepotism, I’m not sure what is.  We also saw big names like Jeffrey Katzenberg, who gave $500,000; Casey Wasserman, who gave $100,000; Steven Spielberg, who gave $25,000; and Barbra Streisand, who gave $2,500, donate to stop Newsom’s recall.  Did it ever occur to Hollywood that they might benefit from a fiscally conservative government that lowered taxes and allowed the consumer to purchase more of their product?  It doesn’t and never will.  It’s unfortunate because there are portions of California, like northern California, that want to succeed but can’t because of an incestuous minority in California that control the entire state.
